THE BAULE Door Cufflinks
THE BAULE Door Cufflinks feature delicate detailing carefully crafted to mimic the filigree like texture of original Baule bead work. The Baule people are a group indigenous to Western Africa known for their rich brass and gold smithing culture. Each bead is named after a common or proverbial object, such as "bamboo door", "setting sun," or "sun and moon" and there is a saying attached to each name. Baule jewelry was often gifted during engagements as a seal of commitment. Made using the traditional lost wax method. Handcrafted with precious metals using the traditional lost-wax casting technique.
