THE COWRIE Staccato Necklace II features 10 large cowries on a 36" in a dynamic design that can be worn at full length, or doubled for a layered look. The cowrie was once used as a form of currency in Africa and many coastal cities around the globe. Their significance extends beyond economics, as cowrie shells also represent spiritual protection and prosperity, often worn as pendants or amulets to ward off harm. Made using the traditional lost wax method.
