The Sorrel and Hibiscus Huggie Earrings feature hibiscus flowers arranged in a bouquet dotted with the plant's hearty calyces. Hibiscus is a flowering plant known for its large petals and long stigma. It can be found in many temperate, subtropical, and tropical regions around the world. A tea is made - usually with the flavour rich calyces of the Hibiscus plant - that is served both hot and cold. The beverage is red in colour, tarte and, rich in nutrients. It has many healing properties. The drink is known as "bissap" in West Africa, "sorrel" in Jamaica, Trinidad and other parts of the Caribbean, "soobolo" in some regions of Ghana, "Agua de Jamaica" in Mexico, "Gul e Khatmi" in Urdu and Persian, "orhul" in India, and "roselle" in other regions of the world. It is also known as "Da Bilenni in Mali, Ivory Coast and Burkino Faso. In Egypt, it is known as "carcadet" and nicknamed the Drink of the Pharaohs. In Sudan it is referred to as "karkade tea".

The drink is usually consumed during the holiday season and mixed with other ingredients like red wine, rum, ginger, orange peel, cloves and cinnamon.
