THE UGANDA Coin Necklace
THE UGANDA Coin Necklace is handcrafted based on an authentic vintage Ugandan coin with precious metals using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. The design features the the Ugandan Coat of Arms on one side and a grey-crowned crane surrounded by a decorative border on the other. The Ugandan Coat of Arms is one of the few African Coat of Arms that features a shield design native to Africa. The Kings of Uganda were the first to use the traditional lentil shaped African shield in their heraldic arms. The shield contains a river, representing the nile, a sun and traditional drum. The green ground below the shield represent the nations fertility and the cotton and coffee plants, its two main crops. The National Bird, the grey-crowned crane, holds the shield on one side, and Ugandan Kob antelope holds the other. Two traditional spears top the shield, and the national motto: "For God and My Country" can be found below.
