THE EKONDA Bangle is a solid sculptural bangle inspired primarily by the Ekonda people of The Democratic Republic of Congo. The bracelets also came in anklet form and were offered as a dowry to the bride and were symbolic elements of the heritage of a family. They were also used as currency and could be traded in rare and important business transactions. THE EKONDA bangle is a smaller simplified version of the traditionally wider designs highlighting the lines and ridges found in the center of original Ekonda bracelets.
