THE CONGO Bangle
THE CONGO Bangle is a solid sculptural bangle inspired primarily by the Mbole Peoples of The Democratic Republic of Congo and Zaire regions. The bracelets also came in anklet form and were offered as a dowry to the bride and were symbolic elements of the heritage of a family. They were also used as currency and could be traded in rare and important business transactions. Handcrafted using the traditional lost-wax casting technique.
