THE BAULE Staccato Necklace features our Sun, Door, and Sun and Moon Baule Bead designs arranged in a repeating pattern of 12 motifs. Each piece features delicate detailing carefully crafted to mimic the filigree like texture of original Baule bead work. The Baule people are a group indigenous to Western Africa known for their rich brass and gold smithing culture. Each bead is named after a common or proverbial object, such as "bamboo door", "setting sun," or "sun and moon" and there is a saying attached to each name. Made using the traditional lost wax method.
Available in:Sterling Silver, 18K Gold Vermeil (18K Gold over Sterling Silver), Solid 10K, 14K, and 18K Gold.
Made with fairly sourced African gold, recycled, and conflict-free fine metals.
Necklace measures 36" long. Model in image is styled in a set of two necklaces.
