THE SUDAN Clay Pot Coin Pendant
THE SUDAN Clay Pot Coin Pendant is handcrafted based on an authentic Sudanese coin with precious metals using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. The design featuring traditional pottery was never used in circulation, instead it is a tribute to the countries rich history of pottery, some of which has been found to be the oldest unearthed from the ancient world. Clay pots are often filled with water from the Nile each morning and left for people to drink because of the heat. The pot features incisions and designs characteristic of traditional Nubian pottery of the region.
