THE BOTSWANA Coin Necklace is handcrafted with fine metals based on an authentic vintage coin from Botswana using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. The design features the the Botswana Coat of Arms on one side and a gemsbok antelope on the reverse . The Botswana Coat of Arms features a traditional African shield. The three cogs at the top of the shield symbolize industry and the bull at the bottom represents the importance of cow herding to the country. The three waves symbolize water, which represent the motto of the nation of the nation: pula, which translates to "rain", but also good luck, and is also the name of the Botswana's currency. The shield is surrounded by an ear of sorghum on its right, an important crop in the nation. On the left is a tusk of ivory, which represents the nations former ivory trade, and its wildlife preservation.  Botswana has one of the highest elephant populations in Africa.
