THE NAMIBIA Coin Necklace is handcrafted based on an authentic Namibian coin. The coin features the Namibian Coat of Arms on the front, which include an African Fish Eagle at the top and a Namib sand dune at the bottom. The shield is designed after the Namibian flag with a sun in the corner. Two oryx antelope hold up the shield and the national motto: Unity, Liberty, Justice make up the bottom. The coin is part of a series of coins minted to raise awareness of the need for food security for the nation. It features a life like image of the horse mackerel fish and the instructions 'eat more fish' on the reverse. Namibia is a new nation which gained its Independence from South Africa in 1990.
