The necklace has a 2" extension at the back to allow the wearer to adjust the necklace to your desired length. The cowrie was once used as a form of currency in Africa and many coastal cities around the globe. Their significance extends beyond economics, as cowrie shells also represent spiritual protection and prosperity, often worn as pendants or amulets to ward off harm.
