Inspired by Ms Lauryn Hill and The Fugees, our HAITI Crest Signet Ring With Black Star Sapphires feature genuine Black Star Sapphires that display golden 6 pointed stars under direct (i.e. sun) light. Signet rings date back to Ancient Egypt and Ancient Nubia where they were used to seal and authenticate documents by the wearer. Handcrafted with precious metals using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. The design features the Haitian Coat of Arms, which includes six flags, two canons, a palm tree, drums, ship anchors, a long gun, and bugles (a brass instrument). The coat of arms symbolizes freedom and the country's battle for independence. In 1804 Haiti became the first country in Latin America and The Caribbean to gain indepence from colonial rule. The motto: L'Union fait la force, which translates to "Unity Makes Strength" can be found on the ribbon.
