THE ANGOLA Kwanza Coin Necklace is handcrafted based on an authentic Angolan coin using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. The coin is dated November 11th, 1975 commemorating the county's day of Independence. It features the national emblem of Angola. The machete and hoe in the centre represent the importance of agricultural workers during the movement for independence. The star symbolizes progress and the rising sun new beginnings. A cog-wheel encircling these symbols on the right half, representing the industrial workers, and on the left half a wreath of corn, coffee and cotton, representing their produce. At the bottom of the emblem, a book can be found representing the importance of knowledge and education.
